PETUNIA
shit i don't know pick one? or combine?
i have no clue when this takes pla ce goodbye, bye
Doesn't everyone crave a piece of cake in the evening every once in a while? Of course they do. Fortunately, they likely have at least a slight semblance of coherency in the kitchen, so this likely isn't a problem for most people. Petunia isn't most people. She's Petunia. ]
Elijah...
[ Petunia peeks her head into Elijah's room -- and she's sweating bullets. There's definitely something wrong, because she's got that very specific look of bewilderment and guilty on her face. From the way she's sweating, it seems to be pretty serious. ]
I-If.... someone were to put... 128 grams of salt into a baking mix instead of sugar, what would they do?
[ Bake a very salty cake, maybe? Would it still be edible? She has to wonder. She never was too fond of wasting things, food especially. Maybe they really shouldn't keep the salt and sugar next to each other... even if they are in completely different containers with markers.
She thought that a simple box cake recipe could be conquered. Petunia thought wrong. ]

and then he's not, not really. Worried mainly for the fact that Petunia can't cook-who will feed her when she's on her own some day-and that train of thought is shut down as quickly as it starts, so where it leaves him is considering, can such a mix be salvaged?]
I suppose if it hadn't been mixed, it might be possible to scoop out the excess salt and so save it...
[It's probably mixed in, isn't it?]
May I see?

Petunia immediately takes off into the kitchen to get rid of the evidence of her failure -- maybe there's a shop open still, or something. The likelihood is less than zero, but hey, you never know, right? Right. Petunia's already left a baking tin in the oven, lined with parchment paper, but she doesn't think much of it as she puts away the salt, the sugar, the eggs -- until something start to smell b-- ]
What's the smell...? [ It seems to be coming from the oven.
She knows exactly what happens before she touches the handle, but she does it anyway and -- ]
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH
[ Did you know parchment paper is flammable? Petunia sure did. Unfortunately, that knowledge didn't help keep it from catching fire. ]

[And she's gone, and Elijah shakes his head and gets up in a moment because darling girl, she needs his help, he knows it-
WHAT IS WRONG SHE'S SCREAMING HE'LL SAVE YOU
So Elijah fairly flies the rest of the distance to the kitchen, where he instantly smells the burning paper but first and foremost he darts to Petunia and pulls her back from the fire.]
PETUNIA! Are you alright?!?!?

So she does the logical thing and, she was lucky enough she hadn't put away the bowl just yet, just cleaning it out, so it's quick thinking that gets her to... fan the fires with the bowl at first. It's not an easy task with Elijah pushing her back, but Petunia's a plucky girl who gets herself in dangerous situations just by walking around. The billowing of the flames reminds her of a receding tide... Tide... Oh, water, right, she thinks, but she looks a lot more disconcerted than determined, looking around the kitchen, and trying to go for the sink. ]
Water! Water!! Let me just--!!
